Richard Lee Bruce, Sr., 53 of Indianapolis, ironically passed away on Race Day, May 28, 2006. He was an avid Indy 500 fan. Rick was born on May 12, 1953 in Indianapolis. Rick and Christine were high school sweethearts that were together for 35 years and raised 2 amazing children. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era as a medic on the homefront. He sold cards retail for years and continued work in auto wholesales with his company, Brickyard Imported Cars. In his free time he loved to do woodworking with his brother-in-law Greg Roll and riding bikes with his wife. He is survived by his wife Christine S. (Roll) Bruce, son Richard Lee Bruce Jr., daughter Autumne Bruce, father William E. Bruce, brothers William E. Bruce Jr. (wife Heidi), David S. Bruce (Karla) , and Kevin J. Bruce (Diana); sister Cynthia K. Richards (Joe), and several especially close nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois M. (Atwell) Bruce. Romans 8 26-30
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified
